Kimi Raikkonen leads Ferrari at Monaco on the first running of the grand prix weekend, edging out the two McLarens of Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen with a margin of just over 0.2s. Hamilton and Kovalainen were only split by 0.04s, the Finnish driver lapping well before breaking for lunch. The second Ferrari of Felipe Massa finished in fourth ahead of Nico Rosberg in the Williams and Robert Kubica in the BMW. Continue Reading

Two years ago, when BlogF1 was in its infancy, I asked readers to tell me why they loved the Monaco Grand Prix so much. The answers were great to read, so after a couple of years and with an increased readership, I thought I’d ask the question again. This time however, to balance the conversation, I would like to include those who don’t like the race. Despite insisting on attending his home grand prix for the last few weeks, FIA president Max Mosley has apparently been forced to step back from the glitz and glamour of Formula One’s most prestigious race, instead having to rely on deputy FIA president Marco Piccinini to attend the formal engagements. It has been reported that the Monaco Royal Family would rather not be seen with Mosley, and the FIA have had to carefully orchestrate their movements for the weekend.
