FIA president Max Mosley was invited to Jordan this weekend to attend the country’s inaugural rally, another sport governed by the international organisation. Mosley, who was recently plastered over a Sunday tabloid in the UK, has stayed away for the two Formula One races that have taken place (or about to take place) since. The Crown Prince of Bahrain sent Mosley a letter ahead of his planned visit to the Bahrain Grand Prix essentially asking him not to attend. Max obliged and cited reasons of being very busy working with his legal team at the time. But choosing to attend Jordan this week may not have been the best idea either, as it turns out the president has been given the cold shoulder by many people. Continue Reading

Max Mosley, who has been caught up in a tabloid scandal which saw details of his private life published in the News Of The World, has given his first interview since the story broke. Mosley spoke to the Sunday Telegraph, a paper which seems to support Mosley, and spoke of the embarrassment to his family as well as discussing the upcoming FIA Extraordinary General Meeting and his future plans regarding his role as president of the organisation. Continue Reading

With a three week break until the Spanish Grand Prix, I thought it would be a good time to resurrect the News Round-up posts, as well as write some series posts about things I’ve yet to discuss on the site. Earlier today I posted about the background to Honda, their past and how they got back into Formula One. Over the next two weeks I’ll post about Renault, Force India, BMW et al. For now though, here’s the latest from the world of fast cars and controversial rules. Continue Reading

FIA president Max Mosley has been hit with further allegations by British tabloid the News Of The World, as the paper apparently speaks to one of the prostitutes hired by Mosley for the ’sadomasochistic orgy’. It was to be expected that the newspaper would follow up their expose from last week with further information, such is the style of the paper. However, the continuation of the saga only further adds to the pressure on Mosley to step down from his position. Continue Reading

Germany’s national motoring body, ADAC, has written to Max Mosley asking the president of the FIA to reconsider his position within the organisation. This news comes after an extraordinary general meeting was called by Mosley via the FIA Senate. Mosley had stated in a letter to all FIA members earlier in the week that he had support from within the FIA and has been encouraged to continue in his role. Now, however, it appears that not all feel the same way. Continue Reading

If I promise to get back to actual event of motor racing reporting on Friday, will you let continue to talk about Max? Thanks, I thought you would! Because now Mr Mosley has asked the FIA Senate to call an extraordinary meeting to discuss the events of the past week and presumably how this has all affected Formula One, especially given the recent statements from four manufacturers involved in the sport. The FIA have refused to comment in any detail over the meeting, only saying that it will likely be held at FIA HQ in Paris as soon as practically possibly. Continue Reading

Despite staying away from the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend at the request of the Bahraini Royal Family, Max Mosley is still hitting the headlines as the Formula One teams break their silence and openly criticise the FIA president over his recent behaviour. German manufacturers BMW and Mercedes issued a joint statement which made it very clear they wished to distance themselves from Mosley. Honda and Toyota have issued statements effectively saying the same. And finally, Max responded to these statements in a manner which I feel inclined to describe as a little cry-babyish. Continue Reading

Okay, I know I said I wouldn’t say anything more about the Mosley story until some new real news came along, but this evening Max Mosley broke his silence over the expose published in the News Of The World last Sunday. The president of the FIA has written a letter to every member of the FIA, the FIA Senate, the World Mobility Council and the World Council for Motor Sport. The contents of the letter are as follows… Continue Reading

Max Mosley is still to go on record and admit or deny his involvement in the alleged scandal that the News Of The World reported on Sunday. The alleged ’sadomasochistic orgy’ that Mosley has been said to be involved with is of course his private life, but many people are questioning why there is still no official word from Mosley, either admittance or denial. And now even Bernie Ecclestone has suggested that maybe Max should stay away from this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Continue Reading

Some say that Max’s private life is just that, and what the president of the FIA gets up to in the bedroom should remain there. Others feel that the potentially racist overtones from the recently alleged ‘orgy’ discredit the 67 year-old to the point where he should resign. I should point out that despite the video and photographs, nothing has been proven just yet, but regardless of how you feel, it does seem a little strange that the mainstream media are shying away from the story.
