This fine Monday morning was made even more welcoming by my contribution to Alianora La Canta’s guest-post series going up on La Canta Magnifico. Entitled Visions of the Future, Ali certainly got my imagination going; flying cars, unheard-of technology, black and white rules that are evenly and fairly enforced, supreme safety while still providing an incredible spectacle, the perfect balance of chasing, overtaking and failing to pass…
…and then I realised that this is Formula One we’re talking about, so I slumped back in my chair and attempted to give some thoughts on the future of the sport with both feet on the ground. Continue Reading

Guest post number four, the final in this series, comes from regular commenter and La Canta Magnifico author, Alianora. A self-confessed Jordan/Midland/Spyker/Force India fan, Alianora is often seen around the online Formula One community leaving comments and contributing to conversations with her sharp eye for detail and comprehensive knowledge of the rules. As this is the last in the guest series for now, there is only one pairing left to be discussed; Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa. Continue Reading

Continuing BlogF1’s guest post series, today I have a new Formula One blogger writing for you. Duncan recently started vee8 as a dedicated Formula One site, although he has been writing for years at his personal site, doctorvee. Being a regular commenter at BlogF1, I’ve come to realise that Duncan has a shrewd eye for detail and I’ve always admired his F1-related posts in the past. For today, we have the McLaren duo to discuss; how will Hamilton fair against his equally experienced team mate Heikki Kovalainen? Enjoy… Continue Reading

Today sees BlogF1 guest posting at F1Fanatic as part of Keith’s Soapbox series, asking what bloggers think the big story of 2008 will be. With so much happening last year it is difficult to think what could be the talking point of this championship. And as I wasn’t in The Hacker’s Keyboard with Clive (I was propping up the bar in The Blogger’s Dog that evening), I didn’t have chance to discuss matters over a pint or two with my fellow writers. But from my perspective, I think the big story will be Heikki Kovalainen. He eventually did well last year and I think (or rather, hope) he will cause a headache or two for Ron’s golden boy. Head on over to F1Fanatic to take a read. The comments are open so feel free to add to the discussion. Continue Reading

Not only is it the build up to the 2008 Formula World Championship, it is also the (newly created) 2008 F1 guest-post season. We have a series of posts here at BlogF1, due to continue on Monday. F1Fanatic is getting the new Soapbox series published which will see yours truly at some point (although I have no idea when) and now I’m in the mix at vee8. Duncan, owner of vee8, opened the doors shortly after launching and is allowing readers to contribute articles. So the words “Free Promotion” rolled over my eyes and I decided to return a favour at the same time. Go check it out: Fisichella: Grumpy & Old, But Still Quick? Continue Reading

As the build up to the 2008 season continues, today we have the the second of BlogF1’s guest post series to enjoy. This time we welcome the thoughts of Sidepodcast writer and podcaster, Christine Blachford. Christine discusses the return of Fernando Alonso to Renault and the pairing of the Spaniard with young hotshot Nelson Piquet Jr. Continue Reading

Over the following four days; today, Friday, Monday and Tuesday, BlogF1 is being handed over to four excellent writers from the field of Formula One blogging. Each writer has submitted a post comparing the team mates from the top four squads, and having read through them, you are all in for a real treat. First up is Clive Allen from F1 Insight. Clive’s blog has become a real treasure to read with well-thought out and explanatory pieces. I’m not ashamed to say I get excited when I see F1 Insight updates in my feed reader.
Today though, Clive is talking about one of his favourite teams, BMW. Take it away my good man… Continue Reading
