Today at Maranello, Ferrari launched their 2008 challenger, the F2008 and the 54th they’ve built. The car is completely new and will attempt to retain the constructors trophy the team won last year with the F2007, and also propel one of their drivers to the crown. Inside the walls at Maranello, the car has been codenamed 659 and to comply with new regulations, has no driver aids. Continue Reading…

Ferrari have set up up a micro-site dedicated to their new 2008 challenger, the F2008. The site shows footage from launches dating back to 2005 and promises lots of information detailing the new car as well as some multimedia content, likely to be just photos though. The images currently on display can only be downloaded by signing up to the site, which I must point out is more trouble than it’s worth. However the car is being officially launched tomorrow so we don’t have too long to wait. Continue Reading…

Honda launched their new livery this morning at London’s Natural History Museum (something that caused a bit of humour among the paddock last week), and as suggested yesterday, the car will be adorned with an Earth graphic. The team have chosen to move away from the now traditional trend of flooding the car with sponsors and the new look is more minimal, and thus certainly more striking. Continue Reading…

Honda’s 2007 livery is due to be unveiled at London’s Natural History Museum on Monday, but a sharp-eyed person has discovered this photo in Honda’s gallery on their website - it is apparently yet to be published. It shows the RA107 painted in imagery from Google Earth, and aside from Honda and Bridestone logos, the car is void of all other sponsorship. On the rear wing is a website address - myearthdream.com - which is registered to 19Entertainment (and currently unavailable), the company that deal with Honda’s F1 PR. Continue Reading…

The controversial Scuderia Toro Rosso car was launched while I was enjoying a rainy Italy this week, and although they are only second last to Super Aguri at unveiling, they are certainly leading the way in the controversy race.
The stage was set in Barcelona yesterday for the offical unveiling, and the car was flanked by the recently re-signed Vitantonio Liuzzi. An announcement regarding the second driver is yet to be made, as team chief Gerhard Berger stated that contractual issues are hindering Scott Speed’s re-signing. Continue Reading…

The car, painted in the traditional Dutch colours of orange, was launched at the Silverstone circuit were the team are based, located in Jordan’s old factory. Adrian Sutil was chosen over previous Jordan/Midland/Spyker driver Tiago Monteiro, and the team have high-hopes for the young German - Nico Rosberg has already commented on how good of a competitor he was in previous formulae. Honda have unveiled their 2007 contender – named the RA107 – in Spain at the popular winter testing track Circuit de Catalunya. Although the teams new livery will not be ready for another month, the new car was dressed in the teams testing colour of black.
Finishing in an improved 4th place in the 2006 season, Honda concentrated on developing the car further in the hope that both drivers can win in 2007 – something Jenson Button managed once last year at Hungary. Continue Reading…
