  • Brazil 2009: Race Result

If qualifying is anything to go by, the 2009 Brazilian Grand Prix should be interesting if not anything else. However, while the temperamental Sao Paulo weather caused havoc for Saturday’s running, the climate in the world’s second largest city has greatly improved for Sunday. Rubens Barrichello will be hoping for his first home win, while behind him, Jarno Trulli and Adrian Sutil will also be looking for a decent haul of points. Further back, Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel will be duking it out, the pair having qualified close together and brought alongside after Vitantonio Liuzzi took a demotion for having his gearbox changed.

The result table will be updated as the race unfolds and finalised following the chequered flag. For more information on the Interlagos circuit, please visit BlogF1s sister site, AerialF1.

I was really pulling for Rubens to get the home win after missing out so many times, but great to see Webber get a second win on the year when he had so muhc bad luck coming in. It was also a pleasent suprise to see Lewis on the podium.

Oh, and how could I forget the scruff between Trulli and Sutil? Reminded me alot of the Jeff Gordon/Matt Kensith incident at Bristol a few years back :)

Grats to J.Button a deserved win.
As for Truli/Sutil incident, both drivers could’ve avoid it and finish it.

Has anyone noticed at the podium finish Kubica by accident (no one was there to direct, noticeably Kubica wasn’t sure where to go) steps to third and Hamilton on second? Then Kubica realized he was on the wrong one and pointed at Hamilton to switch. lol

Correction, Hamilton checks it first. lol

All in all, a good podium. Just a shame Button wasn’t up there as well. Maybe he can close out the year with a banzai win in Abu Dhabi.

Kubica wasn’t sure where to go

Kubica hasn’t been up there in such a long time I think he forgot which side of the winner he had to stand. :)
