  • Bahrain 2009: Fantasy Racers Update

With only a couple of minor changes made to the teams for the Bahrain Grand Prix, I left it up to higher powers to decide the fate of my five Fantasy Racer teams. Leaving Jenson Button in the squads was a no-brainer, despite his less than victorious race in China last weekend. Choosing to add Kimi Raikkonen to one of the other squads paid dividends as well, although I fear it is too soon to start considering the Finn on a full-time basis. Also performing well for my outfits were pole sitter Jarno Trulli, Sebastian Vettel and Timo Glock.

BlogF1 Racing was once again the top scoring team collecting 641 points. This improves the standings of the squad to 1104th in the overall league, and as they are my top-scorers, they rest in 153rd in the Sidepodcast league. So they’re making slow progress, and most importantly, they remain ahead of Mr. C’s Longitudinal Inertia squad, who languish down in 218th. Although league creator and songwriter/singer Mrs. C is doing considerably better in 21st.

Inner Pickle Racing continue to be the second placed squad among the group, but close behind are PETN who scored 580 and are showing promise. Failing miserably, although not quite as miserably as normal are Team Finitalia, who managed some decent points with Trulli and Raikkonen this time around, but are still more than hopeless somewhere near the bottom of the tables in 4214th.

Wow Ollie! You really are getting good at this! My highest scorer this race was only a 479. Almost all of your squads beat this!

I hope you keep this up, and I also hope you keep up the great work on your blog. Good luck next race!

Ha! Well thanks for the compliment, but I don’t think I’m getting that good at it. The winning team from Bahrain scored a monstrous 905 points. Still, I guess I’m getting there. Good luck to yourself for Spain and beyond. :)
