And more impressive than that is that I bought them all (96-06) from someone on eBay for the princely sum of just 1p. His face when I came to collect them was priceless

was it his first time on ebay or something?

Tell me about it. My floorboards are buckling under the pressure. I’ve got every single issue of F1 Racing and the last two years of Autosport. The chances of me ever reading them again are minimal, but I just can’t part with ‘em!

No ‘dark horse’

Autosport at its finest, reminding us mere fans that the Williams is not a Ferrari.

damn they got a whole cover and lewis doesn’t even drive for them

There were positive moments, but I’m just hoping they can make the most of the 2009 changes.

Looking at the results table, it seems to be about 50:50 positive/negative moments. They seem to be on the ball for 2009, but then I always end up saying that every year. “Next season they’ll move forward, next season…”

My overriding impression of 2008 for Williams is complete anonymity from Rosberg and watching Nakajima struggle to get out of Q3 every week. There were positive moments, but I’m just hoping they can make the most of the 2009 changes.

Just sifted through my collection of Autosport. The only one I could find was from Feb 14th with the FW30 on the front. No ‘dark horse’ quote though – going to irritate me until I damn well find it!

I seem to recall pre-season that Autosport had Williams down as the dark horse to watch.

I seem to recall pre-season that Autosport had Williams down as the dark horse to watch. Things started off well in Melbourne, but other than that Williams have been a bit of a disappointment in 2008. From memory, I can only think of one race where they looked particularly quick and that was at Singapore.

Otherwise, they were nowhere all season. Of all the teams still in F1, I don’t think the future is particularly bright for them which is a sad situation.
