Singapore 2008: A Weekend In Pictures

Posted on September 29th, 2008 by Oliver White in 2008

Formula One’s very first night race went off without a hitch and the photographs that came out of the city over the course of the weekend were nothing short of stunning. To see the cars reflecting the bright lights that were illuminating the track was certainly quite special and to commemorate the moment, I’ve gathered a few select images from the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I just love Nico’s facial expression on the podium. A richly deserved spray of champagne, I feel.

The Boston Globe’s Big Picture site is a site that I always recommend. It tells a single news story a day with a lot of good, high quality interesting pictures.

    Today?

    The Singapore Grand Prix:

Thanks for sharing Alex. I just saw the link you posted to Identi.ca, but appreciate you adding a link here too. Fantastic images. I really like the Alonso head-in-hands shot. It shows just how heart-breaking Formula One can be sometimes.

Although… #23, that ain’t no McLaren. Try Force India. :) Nice shot though. They’ve used the technique that makes the image look like a model. Very clever, considering how fast the car was going at the time.
