The FIA, after holding discussions in France on a variety of Formula One-related topics, have released a provisional calender for the 2009 Formula One World Championship. The calendar, which may change prior to next March, includes Magny Cours as the host of the French Grand Prix (and the FFSA confirmed this separately), but does not have the US Grand Prix listed. Abu Dhabi has been given the final grand prix of the year on the 19-race calendar.

Please note the FIA have not released any circuit information, although for the majority of events, the circuit is fairly obvious. It’s also worth noting that this is one of the sport’s longest seasons, and although it isn’t starting until later in March, the racing will contiunue right up until mid-November.

Other changes include the Turkish Grand Prix going back to it’s previous August slot (it was much earlier this year) and France and Britain have swapped around again. The full provisional 2009 calendar can be viewed here in true BlogF1 style, with Google Earth images as well.
