  • Green Light For Red Bull At Sepang

David Coulthard - 2008 Australian Grand PrixRed Bull Racing have been given the green light to continue participating in this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix. The news follows a strange incident involving David Coulthard’s car which caused the stewards concern. During the first Free Practice session the Scot ran wide and slid over a kerb. As Coulthard controlled the car and brought it back onto the circuit it appears as though he suffers a catastrophic suspension failure. This follows the damage he sustained after being knocked at the back of the car by Felipe Massa at Albert Park last weekend.

The stewards demanded a technical report be submitted to the FIA for review in order to decide if Red Bull can continue safely.

Having received a written report from Red Bull Racing and the verbal report from the Technical Delegate who has conducted a visual check of the front suspension of the Red Bull car, the Stewards at this stage intend to take no action under Art 2.3 of the 2008 Formula One Technical Regulations. This matter will however, be kept under review during the event. FIA Statement.

Phew, let’s hope both RBR cars manage to hang together this weekend – for a change!
