Thanks Ali. I should point out the closest I have ever been and ever will likely to be to fishing is on the Wii. I'm actually visiting Barcelona for a few days then heading up the Med to Italy to enjoy good food and good wine with good company ("Gone Fishing" sounds better than "Gone Drinking"). I'm certain to enjoy myself though, thank you. :-)

Yep, Markus did well, I think I would like to see him continue, but either way they'll be at the back.

And this type of thing has been going on in F1 for ages. And my view? Honestly? It is Ferrari's fault. They are supposed to be in control of their information, and they should have prevented it from leaving the confines of Maranello. They are crying their eyes out at the moment, and it kinda annoys me. Ferrari recently won an award in Italy for being voted as one of the best companies to work for over there. Maybe they have become complacent, because Stepney sure wasn't all too happy if the allegations are to be believed...

Ollie, I hope you're enjoying the fishing trip in warmer climes, and I'll keep looking for the posts ;-)

I loved seeing Markus do so well at the Nurburgring, but I understand that Spyker needs to pay its bills (and some of Spyker Cars', if the Dutch financial press is to be believed) and that Sakon is therefore worth a go.

The Coughlan thing was too blatant and wholesale to ignore. Tyre spies exchanging information and photography is tolerated because it's not actually against the law to do that sort of stuff (just bad manners and against most company policies). The alternative would be the sort of wishy-washy grey areas that everyone outside the FIA hates. However, there is no legitimate excuse for having a pile of another team's paperwork in the house (if that's what happened - I've yet to see a proper court confirm this).

McLaren and/or Coughlan and/or other individuals will be punished when the FIA knows the extent of the crime. We'll have to wait for the law courts to know what sort of response to expect.

Good post! That race had so much happening I was on the edge of my seat! :)

About the McLaren-Ferrari deal, hmm... not sure what to make of it. I thought that kind of stuff happened anyway - even if not as publicly at this time... but of course I'd prefer it if it wasn't part of the sport.
