[...] Following on from last weeks interview with Keith Collantine from F1Fanatic, we enjoy the musings of Roy Madden this time around. Roy founded and helps to run the F1 LinksHeaven site and has been a fan of the sport for many years. Starting out in 1997, Roy has worked hard at discussing just about everything related to F1 on the LinksHeaven forums, ran Fantasy F1 competitions and evolved his site from a collection of links to the well-visited multi-faceted site that it is today.
I partially agree with you, but that scoring system seems me too scathingly. I think something intermediate could be interesting. For example, taking only podium points:
3 points to winner
2 points to second
1 point to third
and rest by position.
I think 6th place should not have any value.

This was an interesting read.
I'm all for the fan's point of view, cos the stuff churned out by drivers, teams and the media is always the same ol recycled nonsense.

One thing I do disagree with however is Keith's asssesment of the scoring system. I agree that it was conjured up to counter Schumacher's supremacy, but I don't agree that it is unfair to the person who wins the most. After all, the two most important things are speed and reliability in F1... and to be a champion, one has to have both.

Excellent interview and excellent start to a new feature.

But that's expected from a new 9 Rules member.
