Fernando Alonso Talking To The Media - 2006As you can probably tell by skimming around the F1-related websites, news is slow-coming today. But one particular post caught my eye and after reading it, deserves a mention to others. The post was made today - the anniversary of Fernando Alonso’s shock announcement that he will drive a McLaren in 2007. This announcement left just about all Formula One employees and fans dumbfounded, especially has he had signed the contract without his manager and current employers knowledge. Needless to say, no one was more shocked than Flavio Briatore.

To mark this anniversary, Keith over at F1Fanatic has written about the other big and shocking news stories that have rattled the media over the years. Some of the events I knew about, and some I didn’t, so it was well worth the read. Click here to wander over to F1Fanatic to take a look for yourself.

Who said it was a slow news day!?
