Cristiano Da MattaFormer Toyota Formula One driver and ChampCar contender Cristiano Da Matta is making a slow recovery after having brain surgery at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, Wisconsin. His hospitalisation results from colliding with a deer at a test session at Road America last Thursday. Cristiano has some swelling in his brain, but doctors say this is expected, and the Brazilian driver is currently heavily sedated while the recovery process continues.

Regular updates on Cristiano’s condition can be found at RuSport’s website.
