Villeneuve Penalised

Jacques Villeneuve has had his three fastest laps in yesterdays qualifying taken away as the stewards deemed he had blocked Giancarlo Fisichella. Jacques was on an out-lap when Giancarlo came across the BMW Sauber driver and much to the Italian’s annoyance, Villeneuve didn’t get out of his way in time. Fisichella has missed out on the top ten shoot out for the second race in succession.
Giancarlo Fischella stormed down to the BMW garage after the incident to voice his disgruntlement and has since apologised for the language he used.
Jacques will only lose one place on the grid though, as an unscheduled engine change for Mark Webber demotes him down the order, leaving the Canadian driver in 9th, two places ahead of Fisi.
